Like common bread trays, they feature offset rims that enable the totes to rest securely when stacked perpendicular to one another. Another form of stack and nest tote has offset braces on the ends that enable totes to stack or, with a 180 degree turn of the container, nest down inside one another. Grocers and others regularly rely on “bail arm containers.” Those containers generally feature smoother interior sidewalls and have attached rails (known as bail arms) that can be flipped in or out of the top of the container to allow other containers to stack on top of them.
